WATERMARK LIZABONNE

WATERMARK LIZABONNE was undoubtedly my best birthday present ever. She is a scopey, super talented mare with beautifully correct conformation, who has the talent to excel in both dressage and show jumping. She has a phenomenal temperament, great paces and a scopey jumping technique to match.

Sadly, in April 2021, just as she was beginning to go up the jumping grades, she had major colic surgery, so we decided to give her a long break to ensure that was well healed. We gave her a break for a year and a half, and then realised that she was truly obsessed with our other mare’s foals, so we decided to give in to her huge desire to have a baby, and are super exited to announce that she had her first foal in October 2023.

Our stallion of choice was Emerald van‘t Ruytershof. Not only is he a superb world-class athlete who is producing an unprecedented string of brilliant jumpers in Europe, but his colour (Sabiano chestnut with 4 white stockings with a splash of white on his belly) is precisely the same as WATERMARK LIZABONNE’S dam, Geneva, so we were hoping for a lot of “bling”, which wasn’t the case, but we are nonetheless over the moon with her beautiful filly WATERMARK ELEVATE. Please see under PROGENY for more info on this superb filly.

We gave Lizabonne a rest this year (we do not believe in having the mares put in foal again if they have a foal at foot), and she will hopefully be in foal to Ermitage Kalone by the end of 2024.
