COCKTAIL

Cocktail was Purioso‘s most famed representative in International Dressage, and helped put him in the top 10 rankings for dressage stallions. Purioso is the sporthorse producer of the 90’s as much for dressage as jumping, with three “Olympic” offspring namely Olympic Wendela, Olympic Ambush and Olympic Cocktail.

Purioso is the son of the leading German stallion Furioso II, Furioso II who at least 70 approved sons, influencing breeding worldwide. The full brother of Purioso II is the French stallion Mexico, who’s son, Le Mexico is a familiar name is a producer of sporthorses in the Netherlands. Cocktails dam is the “keur preferent” mare Ulissa. She is also the mother of the KWPN approved stallion Falco. Further back in the pedigree we find that excellent moving to Trakhener stallion Hassel. In the fourth generation we found the Holsteiner stallion Antonio, Anblick also sired the dominant breeding stallion Aldato at the Olympic dressage horses of Joseph Neckermann Venetia and Antoinette.

Olympic cocktail was awarded the horse of the year in 1995. With his rider Anky von Grunsven he won an incredible number of Grand Prix, Specials and Kürs to music. Cocktail is the father of the approved stallions Havel, Hierarch, Jazz, Jordan, Hucarlos and Hawthorne. Furthermore Cocktail is leading sire on the Dutch dressage index. His offspring start to show at Grand Prix St George level. His son Havel for instance won the Grand Prix Saint Georges at Leeuwarden. Cocktail was made a “keur” stallion in 1998.

In 2008 Cocktail headed the KWPN and dressage breeding index for stallions with offspring older than 10 years of age, was the score of 178 and a ride ability assessment of 91%. In the 2009 /10 KWPN standings he is in second place, behind his son Jazz.
