Land Earl was by the Sire of Sires Landgraf I who produced over 150 licensed stallions, undoubtedly making him one of the most successful sires to stand in Germany. Landgraf’s progeny’s life earnings totalled in excess of 4.3 million in 2004.
Land Earl was a licensed performance tested Holsteiner stallion imported from Germany. His dam’s sire was Calypso I, a top breeder of both show jumpers and dressage horses. This combination has produced top performers like Calgary, Clarissa, Lennox, loutano and Lancett. Cor de la Bruyere, a legend in his time has been prominent in the lineage on numerous top stallions.
Land Earl’s dam, Ucera produced international showjumper El Caprichio Fossbury, Fucera (dam of international Holstein stallion Chalan (by Chamberlain) and the Brandenburg stallion Chateau. Gilda, Ucera’s dam is the second dam of the Grand Prix stallions Lavantos I and Lavantos II, Racord M and Rocadero. Out of this direct damline is the International
Land Earl competed successfully in Germany in showjumping with Herbert Blocker (silver medalist at the Barcelona Olympics) before coming to South Africa.
