JOHNSON (KEUR, PREFERENT)
Height: 17hh
Origin: KWPN
johnson is a son of the keur stallion Jazz. Jazz himself performed at Grand Prix level. Grandsire, Olympic Cocktail also performed at the highest possible level and achieved numerous victories and high placings in Grand Prix. Grandsire, Flemmingh, is known for producing the Grand Prix dressage horses, Krack C with Anky van Grunsven and Lingh with Edward Gal.
Fundamental for this stallion are his easy-going character and willingness to work under saddle. Johnson has many approved sons with the KWPN: including Breezer, Bretton Woods, Jacksparrow and Firestone. Johnson has three excellent gaits.
Johnson was the overall champion of the KWPN stallion show in 2005. He is competing very successfully at international Grand Prix level with Hans Peter Minderhoud, representing The Netherlands at the last two Olympics, and winning the gold team medal and individual bronze at the European Championships in Aachen.
Johnson is shaping as perhaps the best son of Jazz, at least so far he has been able to emulate his sire in the competition ring, proving himself a real Grand Prix performer – and followed in the footsteps of his sire to become a member of the Dutch dressage team. Now his worth as a sire is proven with the results on the board, well sort of.
BREEDING
We at Watermark Warmbloods are ecstatic to have the great Johnson as the grandsire of three of our foals:
WATERMARK JUST JOHNSON
WATERMARK JOHARI
WATERMARK JUST JUBELND
Johnson, one of the greatest stallions to have ever lived, is ranked No. 1 on the WBFSH which must be one of the highest accolades a stallion could achieve. Truly a sire of sires.
We are super excited to pronounce our Benicio mare, Bonita in foal to him. With the blood of the great Belissimo M, De Niro, Donnerhall, Weltmeyer, Jazz, Florencio and Flemmingh, SURELY she has to produce a TOP CLASS dressage progeny. We cannot wait for October 2023!
