In 1997 he competed in the jumping finals of the “Bundeschampionate” (German Federal Championships) under Peter Teuven, and since 1998 had international show jumping success under Jessica Kurten. He competed in international jumping classes in Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Italy and Ireland.
After his importation in 2003, he started his dressage training. Not even 3 years after giving up show jumping, did he book his first wins in Advanced dressage classes. Since then, he has won every major dressage title in South Africa up to Grand Prix level, amongst others the FEI World Dressage Challenge, SANEF Competition and SA Individual Freestyle Championships. He was retired from competition in 2008, after being awarded highest ranked dressage horse in South Africa.
Pedigree of For Joy

His dam, Donau, (by the incomparable Don Carlos) produced a number of successful offspring: licensed stallion son (Advocat by Argentan) and States Premium Mares, which are all jumping at advanced level. His performance-prone dam line is rounded off by the show jumping progenitor stallions Antrieb and Gotthard.
His sire, For Pleasure, is best known for winning medals at Wor ld, Olympic and National Championships, under riders like Marcus Ehning, Lars Nieberg and Hans-Joachim Giebel, and is producing offspring which are sought after all over the world.
